WEDNESDAY, JULY 22ND, 2009

HELLO EVERYONE!! Back from Vacation...Oh it was WONDERFUL!!!! Just Heaven, this time we rented a house right on the beach!! To hear the ocean waves at night was such a treat for this midwestener!! We have Lake Michigan near us but the Atlantic Ocean is just so powerful and blue and was really warm too!! Here are some pics for you to see what I saw from our deck...see those umbrellas...those were ours!! Here is one picture looking North and here is one looking South.

Before we landed in North Carolina, we stopped off at Washington D.C. Found a red and white quilt and just had to snap some pictures, hope you enjoy...isn't it beautiful. Got some up close photos of some applique done on this quilt...Look at how many stars are on this block..13 for the original colonies, Wow it was a stunning quilt!

This is one of my fav's of hubby relaxing...and here is one of all the kids, Kate brought her boyfriend Chris and Mike brought his girlfriend Angie, so Emily was glad that her cousins Noelle and Jimmy were down there, along with my Sisters and Hubbies and ofcourse, my 86 yr old Mom made it too! I tell you I seriously could live down there if it wasn't so darn expensive. I am glad and thankful for the beautiful week we had. Thank you God!!!

Sorry I haven't blogged much but June was a complete blur as Kate graduated from college and we had the "big" party for her and two kids birthdays fell in there too, but am back and will check out all my fav's tonight. Miss hearing from all of you, but glad to be back !! (well, honestly I wish I was still down at the seashore!!)

STILL WORKING ON...

Hi Quilting Bloggers,

May has flown by as I continue to work on Block One from the book, When the Cold Wind Blows by Alma Allen and Barb Adams. I am almost done with the first block, here are some pics... I am hand appliquing and am still 1 month behind (class is currently finishing up Block Two)...I only work on it at night while watching TV, so it is a slow go for me, but very relaxing. I have the right hand corner to finish and the Brown Vase and then I can move on to Block Two.

While taking a break last night, I took some pics of my Son, Mike and his girlfriend, Angie - they are tooo cute!! In the last picture I think Mike was gritting his teeth at my, so I got the message and left them alone and ofcourse, snuck one of Cooper... he likes his picture taken and just look at the size of that bone! Okay, I put my camera away (for now atleast!!)

HAPPY SWEET 16TH BIRTHDAY, MY SWEET EMMY

Total is my baby's 16th Birthday!!! I can not believe she is actually 16 yrs old, old enough to drive now!!!!! Where has 16 yrs gone to? I can remember bringing her home from the hospital and being soooooo thrilled I had another healthy baby to show her big sister and big brother! It seems like only yesterday...

HAPPY SWEET 16!!! To one of the best daughters (yes, Kate you are the other one) a Mom could ever hope to have. Your bring sunshine to my life everyday and I Thank God for your smiling face and those big blue eyes!!! I Love you With All My Heart and Soul, Mom
