Really cool quilt patterns....be ready to be amazed

Artist Simon Beck must really love the cold weather! Along the frozen lakes of Savoie, France, he spends days plodding through the snow in raquettes (snowshoes), creating these sensational patterns of snow art. Working for 5-9 hours a day, each final piece is typically the size of three soccer fields! The geometric forms range in mathematical patterns and shapes that create stunning, sometimes 3D, designs when viewed from higher levels.

How long these magnificent geometric forms survive is completely dependent on the weather. Beck designs and redesigns the patterns as new snow falls, sometimes unable to finish a piece due to significant overnight accumulations. Interestingly enough, he said, 'The main reason for making them was because I can no longer run properly due to problems with my feet, so plodding about on level snow is the least painful way of getting exercise. Gradually, the reason has become photographing them, and I am considering buying a better camera.” Spectacular art for the sake of exercise!

Aren't these BEAUTIFUL!!  HAVE A GREAT AND BLESSED WEEKEND EVERYONE!!   HUGS,   MARY

Pumkin Season....

Hi Everyone,

Years ago I was involved in a "Pumpkin Swap" and had these blocks but had no idea what to do with them, so today, I played around and so far, this is what I came up with,  this one is my favorite block "the punkin patch".

This is a progress in the works, but I like how it is coming along, now back to my Wonkie Blocks!!

Beautiful Poem...

My Sister gave me this poem that I just have to share...

When through one Woman, a little more Love & Goodness,
A little more Light and Truth Come into the World,
then that Women's Life has had meaning... (anonymous)

When I first read it, I immediately thought of my 89 yr old Mom....My Mom is that Woman!

I only hope I can become that Woman....
if you know of a Woman like that, feel free to share....:)

Hugs Always,
Mary

HI, MY NAME IS RAY....

HI THERE MY NAME IS RAY... well, Raybird is my formal name,  but you can call me Ray.  This is a story about me, Ray and a strange female - human, as you would say and what happened on a sunny day in September on the Beach.  Yep, I live at the Beach, it's my home.  The Atlantic Ocean that is.  I love taking my afternoon strolls along the Atlantic, but this afternoon, well, you will see what happens.................

See, See I'm just strolling along, when strange female, i'm going to call her "Betty" starts following me.  Now, I'm not shy or anything and I do like the ladies, if you know what I mean, but come on,  she keeps pointing this silver thingy at me and "Clickity Click" it goes off.  Talk about almost having a heart attack!
So, I try and look at her with one of my yellow eyes, but does she stop?  Nope, she just makes a "awww" sound and then more clicking.... What's a guy gotta do around here?

Yeah I'm a gentlebird, so I try and ignore her, but nooooooo, she keeps on following me.  So I get this idea in my head, "I think I'll visit my ladybird friends and see if I can shake her....but all my girls start hackling at me because one of these humans are feeding them and well, ladies at lunchtime, don't even get me started.  And you all know what I am talking about, get a couple of them together, after a long hot day in the sun, drinks and snacks - us, gentlebirds are not a welcome sight!  Ok, so more with my story....

They shoo me off...now this is the freaky part..."Betty has been watching and taking pictures of the girls and I", I mean, "give the guy a break"....

So, I once more try and shake her...yeah a little embarrasing...she get's a glimpse of my backend and all, but hey, if she doesn't mind, then neither do I, is my motto!
Now, here is the Best....she stops looking at me and does this....I know, I told you Betty is a little CRAZY!!!  Those are her FEET!!!  And, they are not even webbed?!?!?!?  What's with that????
'mI'm tell you this, "Betty" is one looney bird, no pun intented here....but at least she has stopped stalking me, so whatever floats your boat, as they say.....Oh Wait, I think she is coming in after me...GOTTA FLY!!!!   :)
