Sorry have been missing in action :(

Hello fellow Friends,

Oh I know I have been a bad blogger, have been so busy with...well, life, I guess....My son has been sick, we were out of town for a week, trying to find housing for the youngest at college, planning a wedding shower....oldest is getting married, so now the showers begin this summer....my 89 yr old Mom has been ailing, Well, you get the picture, life has become so complicated and busy and I am totally frazilled (sp?)

Hope all of you are well, and I still visiting my regular blogs and hand sewing whenever I get a minute,

Hi to all my fellow bloggers,

This afternoon, yes, today! 8 months after I first bought her (my lovely daughter) her fabric for her dorm room bed... I know she is almost done with Soph year, and yes, as we strolled around Urban Outfitters last Aug., I suggested,....ok I kind of snorted, "Oh Emily I can make you one of those quilts in no time....."  Yes, that is what I said 8 months ago...well finally got the borders on and off to the quilter it goes....
but I am warning all of you, please put on sunglasses because this one is definately BRIGHT!

So, the Wonky Log Cabin Quilt is done !!  I like the border but this block is by far my favorite, I used selvage in this one and it came out really cute!

Emily's Wonkie's

Hi everyone,

Here is the latest installment of Emily's Wonkie Blocks....Emmy is my baby, well a 19yr old going to be 20 yr old baby.....????  Soph in college....I sewed the blocks together was going to place 4 across but decided on 3, what do you think???  now I have to sew them all together will brown floral in between each set of three...it's funny you can hardly see how I joined the blocks the Floral Brown fabric worked right in....Well, Happy Sunday and I hope eveyrone has a great week!

Changed my mind.....

Well, cannot find a background fab for these wonkies, so I went back to fabric store on another search.....this is what I picked.....I think it goes better....actually it looks "Bohemian" and that is he look she wants so..... and this will be the binding fabric:

Here is  a close up of the fabric that will be used to space blocks:  really pretty I think....would look cute on a chair I think?!?!?

Well, after staring at these two options for the background, I think I like this one better, what do you think???  Actually, they are three backgrounds that I would have to sew together as I don't have enough of just one....but she wanted Bohemian, so I guess it would work??  If you look closely you will see it is three different fabrics?

Wonky Blocks finally finished!!!!

Hello everyone!  Finally finished the Wonkies and am now auditioning setting fabric.....originally was brown, then tried hot pink, but i think I am going with the Blue/Torquoise color.  What do you think?????????????

I still have to square each block to 15", but just wanted to see what the background fabric I should use....

Also took a pic of the mess these blocks are in making - but fun!

Whoops got my foot in that one....this isn't the arrangement of the blocks either, they will by 4 blocks then row then 4 more, well you get the picture hopefully,

Winter Rose, Part III

Hi Everyone,

Well, have been working on my Winter Rose Wallhanging and have finished the first two blocks and 3rd block is pinned not basted yet, but couldn't help but take a pic:  what do you think?  I am loving making these blocks, they aren't too big that they are awkward to hand sew, just the right size,

 Also, went to my fav fabric store and I know I shouldn't have, but, I did, so here is a sneak peak at some yummy fabrics:

What I am going to do,have no idea, couldn't resist, actually went to buy the pink and white stripe fabric and this is what I came out with!!

Wonky fabric

Hello everyone,   Youngest daughter picked out all the fabric for these wonky log cabins and pattern, however, the mushrooms and peace signs??I am getting a little sick of, so I added the Owls and perky blue and brown fabrics...., now I am picking from my stash to complement her fabric choices....hope she doesn't mind!! LOL

And now my computer is working so I can upload pics again through Blogger,  Happy  Days!
