MISSOURI DAISIES PART ?????

Yes, I have been sewing since Christmas and have been working on finishing up the blocks for my Missouri Daisy Quilt - had 4 more to do and ta-da..... so now for the FUN part...I am going to see how to set these blocks, one idea is to cut all the material left over that I used for Stars and Daisies into strips and use those to square off blocks, OR I could just "butt" them together like in the magazine OR I could use just one fabric maybe the yellow and make one single fabric to set blocks in...humm decisions, decisions... what do you gals think???

This is going to be not as big as the one in the magazine - more like a throw
quilt for a very, very special young lady - it's supposed to be a surprise, but I think she knows - here is her favorite Missouri Daisy: Putting them together should go rather quickly - it's just the deciding how to place them and what I will use - sashing or no sashing,
Well, got a run...

Hugs to All (especially you Angie!!)

Vancouver, Canada

Visited Vancouver, Canada - what a beautiful city! Met some Blackhawk Players and got signed jerseys!!! It was our 30 year Wedding Anniversary in Nov of 09, so thought we would celebrate it on a trip to Vancouver, - what a great city and the olympics will be there in a couple of weeks. The weather was around 50-55 degrees - so much better than Chicago! Even though the Blackhawks lost to the Canucks, it was a nice 4 day trip! Glad to be back home!!

REINDEER SIGHTING!!!!

Yes I bought reindeer antlers for Cooper! He even allowed me to take his pic but we compromised...Snoopy had to stay in his mouth!!!

We had Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas Day we visited with Dave's Mom and Sister, here are a look at some of my pictures...the stockings were hung with a wintery blast of snow in the background...

Then one of the girls posing by the tree...

Then one
of Angie and Mike... ok Mike was goofing around in this pic so had to take another one! Yep, this one is better of him! But that is Mike ALWAYS being goofy!

These are of my family and their pets, yes we had three dogs here this Christmas Eve... Lois is holding Izzy and Margie (the one in gold is holding Maxi), Maxi is really Nancy's dog so here is one of Nancy - opps Nancy has her eyes closed and the man behind her is her hubby Jim, so let me give you another one of Nancy..

Cooper thinks Izzie and Maxie are toys, so keeping them apart was a real joy!!

Here is hubby and my brother in law, Jim sharing some bubbly, my sister Lois in munching on some goodies in the background! (caught her) And, here is our tree with all it's presents underneath - you could say we love to give or this is commercialism at it's best!

This one is of Dave an
d me.. Yes I am "squishing him" and what is with the eye makeup Mary, and the hair - I think I was channeling "Dolly Parton" oh well too tired to care at that point.

And if you want a real "treat" watch this video of my 86 yr old Mom reciting "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and then what is this???

I am "getting" a quilt for Christmas?????? Dave's nephew's, Wife, Sam (remember Ryan and Sam, I made them a baby quilt a while ago, well Sam is quilting now and she made this for me, it is supposed to be used on a table, but it is too precious for a table, so I draped it over my couch in Living Room - I just can't believe I finally have a Christmas Quilt that someone made actually for me!!!Thank you Sam!!!!!!! The colors in the quilt are just perfect for our home and she even made her binding and you should see how perfectly she put the binding on! I am in awe! Sam is such a sweety , thank you soooooooooooooooooo
ooo much, Sam, Love Ya!!

Well, that is Ch
ristmas at the Burns', until next time....

Happy New Year everyone and God Bless All of You,

Many, Many Grateful Hugs,

Cooper...the life of a dog....

Haven't done any sewing lately, instead this is what I am up to:

Taking pictures of Cooper...

On Friday Night, Cooper and I were alone (everyone was at the Blackhawk Game - hockey), so I was busy in our family room putting gifts in boxes, when I noticed he was very, very quiet, so I went into the kitchen and this is what I found..his favorite toy, "teddy bear" was in his mouth and he was "gutting it". Cooper loves, loves, loves to take toys apart - I think it is his breed! But "teddy" was hanging out of his mouth and I thought it was tooo cute, so I grabbed my camera. I really do not walk around with my camera on me, but it was in the other room, so just grabbed it.

Earlier that day when I got up to see youngest off to school, this is Cooper playing "dead dog"...how could one lay and be comfortable - I have no idea, but he loves to lay with his stomach up against my counter. Maybe Cooper has some issues - do Dogs have Issues??? People do so maybe Dogs do to...well, this is what has been happening in my life - Exciting isn't it?? Sometimes I just can't seem to contain all the excitement that happens to me in one day!!!!

Mary
