ReplyDeleteGorgeous designer fabric inspires me. Especially Heather Ross, Amy Butler, Tina Givens, Heather Bailey, etc.
Please add me to the list for Cooper to pick names from! He is a handsome guy! I love quilting... I am obsessed! I have recently started to mix applique with pieced blocks. I also challenged myself this year to start doing embroidery. I like it... but it is sooo slow!

PS - Hey cooper, there's a yummy dog biscuit in it for you! LOL
I am working on a baby quilt for my grandson, Evan, who recently moved away with his parents to the other side of the country.
ReplyDeleteI quilt when I need to relax, and this time, to find some peace of mind. The process is calming and I will have a product at the end that I can gift him with.
Oh I am several things started, but what I need to finish are:
ReplyDelete1. a purse for my mom for mother's day
2. free motion quilting a graduation gift
I think new fabrics inspire me the most! LOL...so this giveaway is perfect. Thanks Mary.
Hi Mary, Currently I'm working on some tea wallets and matching business card holders to sell...and the thing that inspires me to make bags and accessories is the fact that they can be made alot quicker (not in all cases though!) than clothing. I'm still to try making my first quilt though...one day. Please give Cooper a rub behind the ears from me! Oh and tell him he deserves a snack from me! Hugs Naomi from Adelaide, Sth Australia
ReplyDeleteI am working on the following: block of the month, a pocketbook, triangle bag swap, and can't wait to start DBQ. Cooper is a real cutie.
ReplyDeleteDebbie NY
I'm currently working on a log cabin quilt in Civil War reproduction fabrics, a bunch of summer clothes for my girls and some baby quilts (or I would if I could find the perfect fabric - this may just fit the bill)!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at magazines, quilt books and blogs and web sites for inspiration!
ohhh what lovely fabric to win. I would love to enter. What inspires me is seeing what everybody out here in blogland does. Truly amazing what people come up with and the more you see the more you want to try. At the moment I am currently working on an applique tablerunner using freezer paper and glue...yes, glue. I have never tried it this way before but it makes it so much easier. Hugs Khris in Oz
ReplyDeleteCute cute fabric. And cute Cooper! I need to get a baby quilt finished up this weekend. Also working on a scrappy project that I can't share yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.

Dearest Cooper, I just love how good you are to Mary and how happy you make her. Now I need to tell you that I'm currently sewing down the binding on a quilt for my grandson and have started another quilt for my granddaughters bed that will be so bright and cheery! Quilting, applique, redwork, knitting and all the other great stitchery brings me a sense of calm in the midst of such a busy and hectic life. It keeps me grounded and feeds my soul. LOVE the fabric and I hope I win it!! This is fun Mary.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently working on finishing up a signature quilt I've been making as a wedding gift for a friend...
ReplyDeleteWhat inspires me? Things that I observe and things I experience, that happen in my life.
A year ago I discovered that emotional upheaval tends to stir up my creativity. A crisis with a family member made me creative in ways that I could never have imagined.
Hurricane Gustav was impetus for another creative spurt. Without power or distraction for more than two weeks I spent a lot of time painting fabrics, practicing techniques learned from an artist friend. Each piece was inspired by the hurricane and the recovery.
It doesn't take much to stir my creativity. The hard thing for me is reining in it and seeing projects through to completion.

Hi, Mary! Thanks for alerting me to your give-away.
ReplyDeleteI think creativity was something I was born with. I don't feel complete without making something of some kind. Sewing is my first love. Most all of my women ancestors sewed and I think it was passed on to me that way.
I get inspiration for my projects from all my quilting friends including the bloggers. I love being able to see photos of what everyone is working on or what they have seen at quilt shows or their friends' quilts. What better inspiration! Quilt magazines also inspire me as well as all those quilt pattern books. The list just doesn't end.
I have a lot of projects in the works, but the main one is my Dear Jane quilt. My inspiration mainly comes from other quilters and from the gorgeous fabrics available...Thanks for the chance for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteCool fabric! I'm working on cherries! I have a larger cherry quilt in progress and a cherry-themed small project--only in my head so far--as the next "Little Adventures" pattern. Then there are several BOM-type projects I SHOULD be working on if I wasn't caught up in thoughts of cherries! What inspires me to quilt? I love to create and fabric is my favorite medium!
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is so cool and would look adorable in a kid's quilt.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently working on a redwork quilt (Winter Wonderland)that I think will take me at least 5 years to finish.
BTW if you need a home for Cooper... he's so cute!
Hi Mary, I am making the cutest little apron for my granddaughter - the material is pink & white check with chocolate bunnies on it! I think that fabric would make a nice little quilt for another of my grandchildren. What inspires me is the thought of seeing the finished item.
ReplyDeleteI am inspired to sew a jacket flip and sew style. I watched "Sewing with Nancy" today and her guest, Lorriane Torrence, showed how to make the cosmopolitan jackets using a foundation for sew/flip. The jacket I want to start is a diagonal patchwork. Thanks for the Fri. give away.
ReplyDeleteBetty
Hi! Mary,
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing a give away. I love Cooper, you can send him right over to play with my Tanner, he's a basset/lab mix and he loves to play.
I am working on an apron right now. I am also knitting a hat and sweater(1st sweater).
I love creative things, they relax my frazzled mind!
Sue
HI Mary Just dropped by to say hi to cooper. Pick me!! I love fabric and I am now working on a quilt as you go. drop by sometime Linda
ReplyDeleteCopper is a lovely dog. He will surely know to choose my name because I enjoyed making a quilt for my dog Katie. I am usually inspired by a new fabric or a new design. I do all my quilting by machine and quilt the tops on an Original GMQ with a BabyLock Quilter's Pro. By the way, Cooper, I have large stash of treats and fabric.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, I would love to win the fabric!! Cathy
ReplyDeleteMary, what beautiful fabric. I just know I could find something to use it in. It is people like you that inspire me in my quilting journey. Since following blogs and yahoo groups, my road has deviated lots from my normal taste in fabrics. I have just finished my
ReplyDelete7th quilt to be donated to the Bushfire Appeal here in Australia.
All thanks to Tia from Camp Followers Bags and Quilts who asked for wonky star blocks. See!!! I just love the selfless generousity of Blogland.
Julie
Hi Mary, I love your dog, BTW. I am working on lots of quilting projects. I have to finish my OP challenge. The top is done, but not quilted or bound. I have a table runner DGD and I started for her mom for Mother's Day. It is a cute beach umbrella theme that DGD picked the pattern for at a quilt show two weeks ago. Then tons of other UFO's and I'm itching to start a new log cabin with varigated tones of each color:red, yellow, green, blue and purple. An entire rainbow. I could go on but this should put my name in the fabric drawing. LOL

Bark, Bark, Bark, I am speaking dog and telling Cooper to please pick me. Cute fabric.
ReplyDeleteI am currently work on several BOM and a quilt for our guild raffle quilt. You know you have probably heard this before but I am definitely inspired by other quilters. I love show and tell on the blogs and my own guilds.
Hi Mary and Cooper. I'm working on a couple of baby quilts for gifts. I always have a Project Linus quilt or 2 in the works. And just recently I've been working on knitting dish/bath cloths and socks.
ReplyDeleteOh yes I am also hand quilting a table runner.
